I had a student create a blog to keep track of his 'going green' as a semester project. It was modeled after the blog created by "no impact man" and it was cute! He attempted to make some of the same changes and keep a blog about it throughout the semester.

Fun and Exciting
I think blogging in the classroom will be fun and enjoyable for my students.
Blogging Experience
Blogging is really not my thing but I still look forward in doing so. In this era, I need to more aware on the different ways I can interact with my friends, family, students and colleagues using technology. I am positive that this experience will be a very meaningful one.
Jessica's first post
I really like blogging but right now I have nothing to really say. I will have something to say later though. Just be patient with me. UNDER CONSTRUCTION!
Spanish with Mrs. Milligan
I'm excited about my students blogging in Spanish to use their current vocabulary and expand their writing skills in the foreign language. It will be interesting to see how their communication skills grow in the target language and I think this will encourage them to use the language more often.
Using blogging for EC students.
Lisa: Using blogging for children that struggle with tradition methods of learning, invites them to use alternative methods of learning. It also gives them an avenue to express themselves without the demands of handwriting. The physical mechanics of writing are difficult for many of my students and they dislike writing greatly. However the new and exciting world of technology is motivating and essentially tricks them into writing. I am excited to return to my classroom and begin using this tool with my students.
Good-bye EOCs
Amanda: With standardized tests being taken away next year, I'm looking forward to using technology in the classroom as an informal assessment tool. Students are required to take Earth/Environmental Science and Physical Science for graduation in North Carolina. Can you imagine how much more interesting it would be to post you reflection about something you learned in class rather than completing a worksheet?
One activity I hope to try out would be to ask students to tell me about what they know about the Gulf Oil Spill and write about how they would like government and private companies to respond and/or prevent future accidents. With the Internet at their fingertips, students can watch videos, read news articles, and then form an educated response to the activity. As a teacher, I look foward to reading their thoughts and seeing how they grow academically and professionally as writers.

Challenges with Set-Up
Blogging can start as young as Kindergarten and extend all the way to college and into your professional career. Blogging is good for children who are ESL, as well as English student learning a second language such as Spanish. Exceptional Children can also experience great benefits.
The world of technology is broad with the subject of science but their also some disadvantages. Some subjects in science have great controversy.
Another challenge for online blogging in the high school setting is insuring the privacy and anonymity of each student. When blogging there can be lack of professional dialogue with one another and online. In some cases, students have not learned proper ethical and social boundaries when using Internet resources.
Despite all of these challenges, blogging creates collaboration and communication among students. This technology helps navigate students into the 21st century by instilling critical thinking skills, reading skills and stronger connection with their peers and teachers.
