Challenges with Set-Up

Blogging can start as young as Kindergarten and extend all the way to college and into your professional career.  Blogging is good for children who are ESL, as well as English student learning a second language such as Spanish.  Exceptional Children can also experience great benefits.

The world of technology is broad with the subject of science but their also some disadvantages.  Some subjects in science have great controversy.

Another challenge for online blogging in the high school setting is insuring the privacy and anonymity of each student.  When blogging there can be lack of professional dialogue with one another and online.  In some cases, students have not learned proper ethical and social boundaries when using Internet resources.

Despite all of these challenges, blogging creates collaboration and communication among students.  This technology helps navigate students into the 21st century by instilling critical thinking skills, reading skills and stronger connection with their peers and teachers.

  1. I think blogging is a great tool, but being a pre-k teacher, it is really not feasible for my students to blog. Most of them have not even seen a computer, so it is unrealistic to expect them to use a computer.

  2. I like hummingbirds. They hummingbird in the righthand collumn brings to me a nostalgic feeling for the pond in the backyard at a previous home of mine with a very special hippie family in Germany. We would sip wine, learn to play the digireedoo and watch the hummingbirds feed :)

  3. Blogging overall is a great idea. I teach students with learning disabilities in grades k-5. I can see maybe trying to introduce blogging to some of my fifth graders who are functioning at an appropriate level for this experience.
